Age 80: The New 50?… 40?… 30?… 20?…
Recently I celebrated my 80th birthday with a healthy mind and a healthy body, capable of physically accomplishing anything I could at 20 years of age. For years I have been teaching that we can prevent sickness and live a healthy and active lifestyle to a ripe, old age if we will nourish and exercise our bodies the way God designed.
Well, here I am, having reached the age many would consider a RIPE, OLD age.
So how am I doing after following my own teachings on Biblical Health for the past almost 40 years of my life (almost half of my life), and living 15 years beyond the age of death of both my father and mother?
In one word: “FABULOUS!”
Last Sunday in the Sunday School class Rhonda and I attend that is designated for “Couples 65 and Older” they were sharing prayer requests as they do each Sunday. The class is made up of about 30 senior adults over the age of 65, most of them younger then I, and what were most of the prayer requests for? Sickness!
The requests were for people who were going to the doctor for this, in the hospital for that, and asking for prayer that they might overcome their physical or psychological problems and the negative drug reaction they were experiencing.
Also they asked for prayer that the doctor would have wisdom how to help the person.
And there I was in the class listening to all of these prayer requests for sickness as I have been doing for years.
The question is, why do I have a well body and a sound mind at age 80 when so many who are much younger then I are suffering with so many physical and mental problems?
The answer is a simple one!
Almost 40 years ago, at the age of 42, I was told I had colon cancer. I chose to take control of my own health and not do what the doctor wanted me to do. I decided to stop depending on the doctor’s advice and the drugs and become my own doctor, taking responsibility for my own health.
At the age of 42 I realized the truth of what the Bible had to say in Galatians 6:7:
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Yes, I realized that God had placed me in control of my own body and it was up to me to sow health into my body through healthy foods if I was to restore my health.
So, for nearly 40 years now, I have continued taking control of my own health and been sowing health into my body through a healthy diet and lifestyle.
That decision I made almost 40 years ago has paid off. I am still living life in excellent health because I stopped letting someone else control my health.
The truth is that doctors and drugs can never keep anyone healthy or heal anyone of anything!
The truth is that only the body has the power and ability to heal anyone of anything!
And that all healing is self-healing! That is, all healing comes from the inside out and cannot come from the outside in!
In fact, the body’s ability to protect itself from disease or heal itself from disease was placed by God into the genetic coding of the first humans (Adam & Eve). This self-protecting and self-healing ability has been passed down from generation to generation in the genes, until it ended up in the body of every human being – including you and me!
That’s right, you have self-protection or self-healing built into your body — regardless of what you are suffering with right now!
If you want to experience the health God intended for you, or if you are currently sick and want to be made well, you must cooperate with your body so that this built-in self-protection and self-healing God placed in you can manifest.
With that as a little background and introduction, let’s consider:
How God designed this physical body
How God designed the body to function; and
How the body responds to various stimuli (food & drink)
We Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
The Bible tells us in Psalm 139:14 — “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;”
In order to properly understand or appreciate the human physical body, we must first acknowledge the body’s origin and designer – GOD!
“And the Lord GOD formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of LIFE; and man became a LIVING soul.”
~ Genesis 2:7
Yes my friend, after GOD had created this earth “In the beginning GOD created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1); He now had the building materials with which to create man – “dust of the ground” (minerals).
Then in Genesis 2:7, using these dead minerals (dirt) God had just created as building material, “GOD formed man.”
But this “GOD-formed man” made “of the dust of the ground” was dead and lifeless until GOD “breathed into his nostrils the breath of LIFE and man became a LIVING soul.”
God Places Man in a Garden
Immediately after creating this first human (Adam), God places Adam in a garden (Genesis 2:8), and then we read:
“And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food.”
Next we learn that:
“God said, Behold, I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.”
~ Genesis 1:29
Friends, there is nothing more important for man to know after birth! If we want to have a healthy body and live a long healthy life, we need to heed what we have just read!
Let me put it in the simplest terms I know…
The physical body we each possess is a “living” organism (Genesis 2:7), comprised of “living” cells, designed by God to be nourished with “living” food!
All the foods found in the garden into which God placed man, and which God told Adam to eat for food, were living plant foods – that is, they were all foods that grew in the garden (fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts) and which still contained their life force (enzymes).
When we consume these raw, living foods, our bodies have the nourishment and building materials need to produce health!
When we cook these living foods, we destroy their life force (enzymes), and thus that living food converts to a dead food.
Dead food cannot properly nourish living cells.
Death cannot produce life! This simple truth is the key to life, health, and longevity!
When we go outside the garden to obtain our food (consuming animal flesh or dairy, refined sugar, refined flour, table salt, caffeine, etc.) we are in danger of doing great harm to the physical body.
Because God created a physical body designed to function properly only when it is provided it with the living garden foods He (God) designed that body to be nourished with!
The opposite is also true: The body malfunctions when a person goes outside the garden to obtain food.
Almost every physical problem man experiences (other than injury from accidents) is caused by a person putting something into their body in the form of food or drink that God never designed the physical body to ever have to contend with.
Our body is similar to our automobile, if you will.
Our car runs smoothly and properly when provided the right grade of fuel, but pings and knocks when given a low quality or contaminated fuel.
How Your Body Was Designed to Function
Researchers tell us that the human physical body we each possess is comprised of approximately 100 trillion living cells.
Whether it be our hair or nails, muscles or bone, blood or immune system, or whatever part of the body you would like to name, everything that comprises our physical body is made up of living cells.
Researchers also tell us that these cells are constantly dying and replacing themselves with new cells at the rate of approximately 300 million cells per minute. Blood cells are dying and replacing daily, taste buds replace in about 2 weeks, the surface layer of skin over our entire body replaces in about 4 weeks, while bone cells take about a year.
As these living cells die and replace, the quality of the new, replacement cell depends on the building materials available to it.
If that new, living cell is provided with living (garden) food, it will be of highest quality!
But if provided with dead or non-garden foods, the new cell will be of poor quality.
Friends, what I have just shared, is the key to life, health, and longevity! And with this knowledge most individuals can take control of their own health. Yes, with this knowledge each person can now determine whether they want to “be in health” (3 John 2) or live in sickness.
Consider, once again, how the Bible expresses this truth in Galatians 6:7:
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man (or woman) soweth, that shall he also reap.”
How The Body Responds to Various Stimuli
The Hallelujah Diet is based on the Genesis 1:29 diet, the very diet God told Adam he was to eat in the Garden of Eden.
Who would know better what was the best source of nourishment for the human physical body, then God, the very Creator of that body?
Indeed, the foundation of the Hallelujah Diet is solid and biblical!
However, after 22 years of my own research and 38 years of personal experience, and for the past 20 years with the help of Hallelujah Acres’ own research scientist, Michael Donaldson, PhD and our own naturopath Olin Idol, ND, CNC, we have learned that a 100% raw, living plant sourced diet has some weaknesses.
This weakness is due to the quality and nutrient density of the garden foods available to us today, and the weakened physical bodies we have to contend with due to years of abuse.
Due to these factors, we do encourage the wide use of freshly extracted vegetable juices, and we do allow 15% of the Garden Foods to be in cooked form. Also, due to research and personal experience, we do encourage some supplements be used in conjunction with the pure, garden foods diet, for best results.
The Hallelujah Diet
The Hallelujah Diet is comprised of 85% raw, living, plant-sourced foods — including an abundance of freshly extracted vegetable juices — along with green smoothies and blended salads. These foods (especially the juices and blended foods) provide the body with the cell building materials it so desperately needs to build a strong, healthy, physical body.
Millions of people around the world have adopted the Hallelujah Diet, and tens-of-thousands have reported back to us that when they adopted the Hallelujah Diet, most all of their physical problems went away, that their body was restored to health, and that they didn’t get sick anymore.
We have seen the bodies of advanced seniors, into their 90s, come alive after applying these truths.
I have been on the Hallelujah Diet for almost 40 years, and on this diet recovered from colon cancer in 1976, and a hemorrhagic stroke due to stress in 2001 — and celebrated my 80th birthday with a healthy strong body and no physical or mental limitations.
On a 100% plant-based diet, we obtain the nutrients and life form (enzymes) our bodies need to maintain health and integrity. However, when we go outside the garden for our food, and place into our body things God never intended our body to have to ever contend with, we get sick.
Every Physical Problem Has a Cause
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 26:2: “ . . . so the curse causeless shall not come.”
This verse indicates that if I do not entertain the cause of sickness, the “curse” (sickness) “will not come.” This explains why Christians are just as sick as non-Christians:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
~ Hosea 4:6
Don’t you think it is high time God’s people stopped sowing the seeds of sickness and got back to nourishing their bodies with the foods God told us we should nourish our bodies with in Genesis 1:29?
Don’t you think it’s time for God’s people to manifest the health God designed for each of us?
Only you and you alone hold the key to your health! Not your doctor!
And what will your health be as you enter those senior years?
What you sow now will determine your health when you get there, and if you have already reached those senior years, you can, by a healthy diet and active lifestyle, make 80 (or whatever age you are) the new, younger you!
Next week, the good Lord willing and if the creeks don’t rise too high we will return with another exciting issue of the Hallelujah Health Tip. Trust you will join us and that you will share these Health Tips with friends and loved ones.
